Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions has an opportunity available for a Senior Environmental Health and Safety Professional in Bloomfield, CT.

Key Responsibilities   

Provides services to clients in the areas of:

  • Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Programs
  • EH&S management systems development, including drafting of standard procedures, guidance and training documents
  • EH&S audits and inspections
  • Environmental Compliance
  • Environmental permitting
  • Technical assistance with regulatory programs in various industries
  • Sustainability strategies
  • Asbestos/mold/lead assessment
  • Provide in-house EH&S training
  • Shipping and receiving dangerous goods by air and hazardous materials and waste by ground
  • Other related EH&S programs

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree desirable
  • 8 to 20 years of experience is required
  • Professional certification, such as PE, CSS, CIH or CSP, is required
  • Technical proficiency in one or more of the following is expected: water quality/wastewater treatment, air quality permitting/technology, ISO 14001 management systems, hazardous waste management, or industrial hygiene
  • Significant knowledge of and experience with industry specific software (e.g., MS Office, AutoCAD and MS Project) required
  • Ability to work independently as an embedded employee within a client’s office
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
  • Demonstrated task and project management skills
  • Staff management and leadership ability
  • Demonstrated maturity in judgment, initiative and client relations
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to establish effective internal and external working relationships
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
  • Must pass 40 Hour HAZWOPER Training and annual refresher course
  • Must be DOT and IATA shipping certified or prepared to be within 30 days
  • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving (MVR) policy
